Ideally situated on Federation Square, this modern bistro provides outstanding views of the Yarra River and serves up delectable tapas in a trendy yet relaxed atmosphere. Diners are treated to tapas such as Catalan-style braised octopus and beef carpaccio with kimchi. Main entrees are just as delectable, with notables such as the signature Arintji burger. A well-selected wine list compliments the menu’s international variety. The interior space showcases earth tones, vibrant orange accents, and timber beams. Outdoor dining available. Reservations are suggested.
The menu is designed for sharing, and is divided into 3 sections: Food with Drinks, Food with Friends, and Food for After and include items such as grilled chorizo, salt cod fritters with saffron aioli and a gorgonzola and leek tart. To start with, you can order a beef burger and some duck-liver parfait. The parfait is in fact, from a separate specials menu. And once you taste it, you’ll also be hoping that it stays on for a while, because once you’ve had it, you’d want to enjoy it again and again! The beef burger is a cute little patty, wedged between soft buns, with lettuce, cheese and relish. Another extensive part of the menu is quite varied. With items such as smoked duck breast, pickled cherries, sweet potato and frisee; chicken wings with spiced salt, chilli and mint; and terrine of wild and farmed mushrooms with braised shallots. Apart from that, you also have your regular steak and some stuffed calamari, which is made to order. Theirs is an excellent steak, tastily charred on the outside, and quite tender making it a must have for everybody and simply quite splendid on the taste parameter.
And to top it all, they have “milk chocolate” on the menu! Those of us who just don’t quite understand why foodies go crazy for very dark chocolate, when milk chocolate just tastes so good. So, so, good! The scoop of coffee ice-cream tastes absolutely delicious. The tart made of a short and crumbly pastry, filled with a rich milk-chocolate ganache, making it exquisite. Quite intense on its own, but the strong coffee ice-cream really cut through the richness. Don’t miss to read the highlights of one of the Best Steakhouse Restaurants Melbourne, Arintji below:
