b) Sports: Sports lovers and enthusiasts have a great many options, they could join the Western Jets Football Club, the Albion Cricket Club or the Deer Park Tennis Club in the suburbs; apart from that there is also a basketball association which is very dedicated to their game. c) Transportation: Almost everyone here owns a car, and it’s the main mode of transportation within the area, but other than that, plans were made to build Caroline Springs railway station which had been stalled until 2015. Estimated completion of the project is around 2017. The station will be serviced by the V/Line Ballarat line, nearby station including Deer Park and Rockbank station. Buses run through Caroline Springs, linking it to parts of Melton. You can reach Watergardens Railway Station in 18-20 mins and St Albans Train Station in 30 mins via buses. Caroline Springs is connected to Western Freeway M8 and the Ballarat Road State Route 8.

As of now, the police station is not open 24 hours a day, but people have been pushing the local government to extend the working hours of the station. Residents have rated the suburb as a relatively safe place to live, but work is in progress to improve the safety of Caroline Springs.

7. Restaurants

Many options available to residents in terms of cuisines. From Thai and Japanese to Italian and Indian, residents have the option to not only eat good Australian food but also enjoy a variety of other cuisines. Apart from that, many fish and chips places and cafes are open in the shopping centre of Caroline Springs. The highlight, however, is the gourmet family restaurant Slices in Caroline Springs that serves foot-long pizzas, and who doesn’t love a big pizza? You get to add on more toppings! The Caroline Springs Railway Station started construction in mid-2015 and is expected to be completed by 2017. The station is being built on the Christies Road outside the town centre. With its completion, residents of Caroline Springs and the surrounding suburbs will be connected to each other and have an efficient and faster transport option at their hands.

The most important plus point in its favour is the tranquil atmosphere which is a far cry from the hustle bustle of the city. People who wish to have a more relaxed routine should consider the move. There are 17 Secondary schools in Caroline Springs within a radial distance of 10kms, and about 65 Primary schools within the neighbouring suburbs.

b) Reasons to reconsider Caroline Springs: If you’re more career oriented or used to the fast-paced life of the city, then this is not the place for you. First of all, the commute would be time-consuming, and second, job opportunities in suburbs are limited. However, once the railway station is completed…things might look up.

Note: The V/Line train services are starting on Jan 29, 2017, and the train takes 27-32 minutes from Caroline Springs Train Station to Southern Cross Railway Station.

What do people say about Caroline Springs:

The problem mostly everyone complained about is the lack of high-speed internet and connectivity blackspots. Most of the residents are otherwise very happy with the lifestyle of the suburb and the quiet open green spaces. Residents are satisfied with the facilities available nearby, and since the distance from CBD will be further reduced by the train soon, the most glaring drawback of the suburb will also be rectified. Some residents, in fact, have termed it as Jewel of the West, Best of the West and even Toorak of the West. According to locals, it’s a good life in Caroline Springs.
