As we all have seen, the dreadful trouble lurking around Chennai since the city faced heaviest rainstorms in 100 years. Nearly 3500 people were stranded across the Chennai International airport, which will remain closed until 6th December 2015. Tens of thousands of people had taken shelter in theaters, event halls, schools & colleges, etc. which are on the higher grounds to stay safe from high waters.

Meanwhile everyone from the Government to NGOs to international bodies to military to local public are fighting this ordeal by helping those in trouble or stuck at the affected areas. Many startups, entrepreneurs, and professionals have taken a hats-off initiative in extending their support in minimizing the distressed situation of the victims by supplying money, food, medical supplies and a lot more. Besides startups & entrepreneurs, people from all religions whether tolerant or not have come forward to help everyone without any biasness.

It is no less than heroic side of these great people in taking this responsible initiative in their hands while putting aside their work to help the affected crowd. Just to encourage and motivate people across the country of India and the World, I have collected some of the examples of support that those great people have extended.

As you can see in these post screenshots how they are accelerating the win in fight against this calamity with the help of technologies and network they have.

UntitledChennai7 How startups and tolerant India are Intolerating floods!I appeal to you and others in the world to not only share this, but also extend your generous support to people of Chennai.

Do not forget to continue your support even after the rain stops, because as per World Health Organisation (WHO), the aftermaths of flood can potentially increase the transmission of the following communicable diseases:

  • Water-borne diseases, such as typhoid fever, cholera, leptospirosis and hepatitis A
  • Vector-borne diseases, such as malaria, dengue and dengue haemorrhagic fever, yellow fever, and West Nile Fever

Over and over again, time has proved that humanity will continue to flourish when the need arises. Now it is time again for all of us to show that humanity will indeed flourish. Use all your contacts suitable to your bandwidth and help all those facing this unfortunate time of their lives. Come forward and stand with them.

Hats-off once again to all these wonderful-and-kind people for their amazing support.
